Citizens of Wallis Concerned Over Opening Of Immigrant Housing Facility

The citizens of Wallis heard more about the housing facility for unaccompanied [immigrant] children that is being put in place on Hwy 60 in Wallis, TX. The facility is due to open the second week in November according to Wallis Police Chief David Moseley. The community as a whole is concerned over its opening as there are many unanswered questions about safety and impact on the community.

Traffic Stop In Sealy, TX Leads to Meth Lab Bust in Wallis, TX

Sealy Police Department working with taskforce officers made a traffic stop at 2949 interstate 10 frontage road. The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Ricardo Alfredo Galindo (24) from Houston. During the course of the traffic stop, Galindo was found to be in possession of (4) kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Task Force Officers continued their investigation which led them to a residence located in the 2400 blk of Cunningham road, Wallis Texas. During a search of the residence, they located a clandestine methamphetamine conversion laboratory.

Wallis EDC Awards Grant For Restoration of Historic Downtown Building [VIDEO]

The Wallis EDC approved an economic grant in the amount of $35,000 for reimbursements for renovations of one of the historical buildings in Downtown Wallis.  The building under renovation/restoration is located at 6503 Commerce St., but, locally it is known at the “Coca-Cola Building” because of the red and green advertisement mural painted on the side of the building.  The couple that purchased and are renovating the building plan to turn it into an event venue.
