Marcus Pena, Austin County’s current tax assessor collector, released data on the costs associated with holding county elections. ย “Our taxpayers have a right to know how tax dollars are spent to run elections” he stated in his email with the information. ย Just to hold theย special elections, whether you voted or not, was almost fifty cents for each registered voter in Austin County. ย Below is the graphic in complete detail, just click on it for a larger view:
