The Bellville Chapter of the Lions Club International continues its tradition of honoring outstanding youth in the community through annual contests. This year, Bellville High School students Maddox Carlson and Sophie Martinez have earned recognition in the Lions Club Essay Contest for their essays on Diabetes Prevention and Drug Awareness, respectively. Additionally, Alex Flores has been acknowledged as the Lions Club Outstanding Youth. The Bellville and Austin County Community takes pride in the achievements of these young individuals and looks forward to witnessing their continued success in the Lions Club contests and beyond.

Senior CX Debate is a rigorous platform that fosters critical thinking and public speaking prowess, and Brazos High School and Austin County Community is proud of Alex and Fabian’s impressive achievement.

The Bellville Police Department conducted a welfare check on East Main Street which resulted in the apprehension of three individuals. The individuals were charged with drug possession and firearm offenses. The suspects were then booked into the Austin County Jail to await legal proceedings.
