In the early hours of Saturday, January 20th, K-9 Officer Freude and Officer Brown of the Bellville Police Department carried out a welfare check that led to a significant arrest in the 600 Block of East Main Street.

While conducting their welfare check on a vehicle parked in the roadway, Officer Freude and Officer Brown observed a suspicious individual emerging from the wood line adjacent to the railroad tracks in the same vicinity. This raised their concerns, prompting further investigation into both the individual and the vehicle.

Upon thorough examination, it was discovered that two additional individuals were inside the vehicle. The individuals were identified as Carlos Jeffrey (age 19), Carlos Aguilar (age 20), and Carlos Arriaga (age 20), all hailing from the Houston area.

Subsequent investigation revealed that all three subjects were in possession of a significant quantity of Marijuana, exceeding 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, which constitutes a State Jail Felony in the state of Texas. Additionally, Carlos Arriaga faced additional charges, including Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, classified as a Class A Misdemeanor, and Theft of a Firearm, a State Jail Felony.

In accordance with the law, Bellville Police Department officers proceeded to arrest all three individuals on these charges. Following their arrest, Carlos Jeffrey, Carlos Aguilar, and Carlos Arriaga were taken into custody and booked into the Austin County Jail.

**Note** All individuals mentioned are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
