Katy’s “Typhoon Texas” waterpark opens on May 28,2016 and is located just east of Katy Mills Mall and south of I-10 at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd.  It is the first privately funded waterpark to be built in the United States in the last ten years.   It took three years of careful planning to complete. The vision for the waterpark was to be the cleanest and best waterpark in Texas.  It is themed all around Texas and Southern hospitality.  Rides at the waterpark include such names as Tidal Wave Bay, The Snake Pit, Monster Storms, The Duelin’ Daltons, The Lazy-T, Lone Star Racers, Buckaroo Bayou and The Gully Washer.

Careful consideration was given to safety.  There are rides that cannot be ridden if children are under 48 inches tall.   To accommodate the smallest tykes, The Gully Washer is for children under the age of two and is an upgraded splash pad area.  Trained lifeguards, medical personnel, and security personnel are always on duty.

“Typhoon Texas” is more than just a waterpark.   For those who don’ want to get wet , it offers additional nightly attractions such as live bands and splash cinema.  “Typhoon Texas” offers a treat for the whole family and is sure to bring smiles to everyone on hot Texas days.
