On the evening of January 22, 2024, at approximately 7:38 PM, officers of the San Felipe Police Department engaged in a traffic enforcement action at the intersection of Campo Santo Street and College Street. The vehicle in question failed to comply and subsequently initiated a pursuit.
The chase concluded shortly after the suspect’s vehicle crashed near the junction of College Street and Sealy Road. Following the incident, officers apprehended the driver, identified as Lucious Josey, a Black male. Josey was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Evading with a Motor Vehicle.
Despite the offer of medical attention post-arrest, Mr. Josey declined any medical treatment. Consequently, he was processed and booked into the Austin County Jail without delay.
