The ninth-ranked Blinn College volleyball team kept rolling with a Region XIV road sweep of Panola College on Friday in Carthage, Texas.

The Buccaneers cruised past the Fillies 25-8, 25-15, 25-14 for their 25th consecutive victory and remained unbeaten in region play.

“The girls played really well tonight,” Blinn head coach Terry Gamble said. “To go on the road and be a really good team says a lot for these young ladies. The team played really well tonight and I’m extremely proud of them.”

The Bucs (32-2 overall, 10-0 Region XIV) are in the midst of their best regular-season run since the 2021 squad entered postseason play with a 35-1 mark. Blinn has four regular-season matches remaining.

The Bucs put forth a strong offensive showing against Panola, led by a trio of double-digit kill totals from their top hitters. Freshman outside hitters  and Greta Rakow recorded 14 and 11 kills, respectively, and sophomore right-side hitter and NJCAA Division I kills leader Kellen Dorotik chipped in 10. Freshman middle blocker Jana Cetkovic added six kills, a solo block and four block assists.

“I thought Greta had her best match of the year,” Gamble added, “and Jana and MaKenna also played really well.”

Freshman setters Leah Hoss and Bromli Watson were Blinn’s offensive anchors with 21 and 17 set assists, respectively.

Defensively, sophomore libero Cierra Pesak had a team-high 12 digs, followed by seven for Loo and six for freshman libero Sophie Ilagan.

Rakow had three block assists and Watson had one solo.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 49 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
