The Multi-County Cooking Well with Diabetes series is right around the corner. Sign up today! Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties will be hosting this amazing four-week virtual program during the months of October and November (10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16). By participating, you will learn how to prepare fantastic foods with flair! The cost of this four-week virtual program is $15.00 but scholarships are available. Each week you will hear from area health and nutrition professionals and learn how to make ordinary meals into extraordinary meals.
The educational sessions will be followed by a step by step cooking demonstration video entitled “Meet Me in the Kitchen!” Get prepared to create tasty dishes using simple ingredients. Finally, all participants will have the chance to participate in a live Q&A with the health professional of the week (10/29, 11/5, 11/12 & 11/19)!
Caregivers of type 2 diabetes individuals are also encouraged to participate. The primary goal is to help participants learn how to manage their meal plan by understanding carbohydrates, healthy substitutions, and tips to increase fiber and lower sodium levels.
