Brazos Independent School District (ISD) recognizes the hard work and dedication of its teachers and staff members, and Chad Divin is no exception. Chad is a teacher at Brazos High School who was selected to be an AP Program Reader by the Educational Testing Service. The AP (Advanced Placement) Program Reader is an experienced educator who is selected to evaluate the performance of high school students who have taken an Advanced Placement course. The AP Program is a college-level program that offers high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses and potentially earn college credit while still in high school. The AP Program Reader is responsible for scoring students’ AP exams, which are designed to assess students’ mastery of the course content. The AP Program Readers are carefully selected by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and are typically experienced teachers who have a deep understanding of the course content and the standards for student performance. The AP Program Reader’s role is critical to the success of the AP Program and ensures that students receive a fair and accurate evaluation of their performance.  Chad’s selection as a reader reflects his commitment to providing students with a fair and rigorous evaluation of their mastery of the college-level coursework.

Moving on to the counselors of Brazos ISD, Counselor Appreciation Week can vary, but it is typically observed in the first full week of February in the United States. This week is set aside to recognize and celebrate the contributions of school counselors and the important role they play in students’ lives. The purpose of Counselor Appreciation Week is to raise awareness about the work that school counselors do, and to show appreciation for the positive impact they have on students, families, and communities.

Brazos ISD’s started last Monday and each one of their councelors plays a crucial role in supporting students and ensuring their success. Mrs. Becca Naseman, who works with high school students, is an important resource for students as they navigate the college preparation and career planning process. Mrs. Naseman helps students make informed decisions about their future academic and professional pursuits, providing guidance and support every step of the way. Her passion for helping students achieve their goals and reach their full potential is evident in the dedication she brings to her role every day.

Katie Allison, who works with middle school students, is an experienced counselor who provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students. Mrs. Allison helps students with discipline, testing preparation, and addressing various issues they may be facing. Her approach is tailored to each student’s needs, and she works to create a safe and supportive environment where students can grow and learn. Mrs. Allison’s dedication and compassion make her an invaluable resource for students, parents, and the community as a whole.

Lastly, La Tonia Brison, the elementary counselor, works to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students, with a focus on discipline, home connections, and ensuring that indigent students have access to necessary resources, especially during the holidays. Mrs. Brison works closely with students, families, and the community to create a supportive environment that fosters student success. Her passion for helping students and ensuring they have access to resources and support is evident in her work and the positive impact she has on students’ lives.

Brazos ISD recognizes and celebrates its teachers and staff members who have demonstrated excellence in their respective roles. Each of these educators plays an important role in providing students with the best possible education and support, and their hard work and dedication are an inspiration to us all.
