The Wallis Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a candidate forum for the upcoming Wallis City Council election. The event took place on April 18, 2024, at 7 pm at the Wallis Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 703 Columbus Rd, Wallis, TX 77485. The forum provided an opportunity for residents to hear from the candidates running for city council.

Five candidates are vying for positions on the council. The current candidates include James King, Daniel Sawyer, Jimmy Lavergne, Clark Main Jr., and David Marek. Notably, Amy Fogle was listed on the ballot but has since dropped out of the race.

The forum allowed each candidate to present their platform and answer questions from the audience, offering voters a chance to learn more about the individuals seeking to represent them in local government. The event was well-attended, with community members expressing interest in the future direction of Wallis.

The 2024 General Elections are scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Several two-year term positions are up for election in this cycle, including Councilmember positions currently held by James King, Clark Main Jr., and Joell Prado.
