Blinn College volleyball coach Terry Gamble admits he was a little concerned about a letdown after an emotional match Tuesday night with conference co-leader Panola College.
The Buccaneers didn’t let down at all Thursday night, sweeping Coastal Bend College 3-0 Thursday night in the Kruse Center. Blinn continued its perfect September run, winning all 17 of its matches this month without losing a game.
Third-ranked Blinn is now 22-1 on the season and 6-0 in conference with a 21-match winning streak. That includes Tuesday’s 3-0 win over 14th-ranked Panola.
The Bucs beat Coastal Bend (0-5 in conference) 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.
Reagan Casey led Blinn’s offense with eight kills in 13 attempts. Jayde Shelton added seven kills, Ashley Taylor six, and Chard’e Van Zandt and Guilia Hortelan five each.
Lina Ellila led the Bucs with 28 assists and Lixai Perez had 16 digs.
Blinn will travel to Tyler to play in the Tyler Junior College Invitational. The Bucs’ Friday matches are Indian Hills Community College at 11 a.m. and Missouri State University-West Plains at 3 p.m.
Blinn will play host Tyler Junior College on Saturday at noon. The Bucs next conference game is a Tuesday road trip to Lee College for a 6 p.m. game.
