BEEVILLE, Texas — Five Buccaneers scored double-digit points in the Blinn women’s basketball 75-47 victory over Coastal Bend College on Saturday afternoon in Beeville.
Jade Rochelle, Kayla Konarik, Rayanna Carter, Aaliyah Holmes and Kyler Wyatt led the Blinn offense with double-digit points. Rochelle led the Buccaneers with 15 points, while Konarik followed with 12 points and Carter and Holmes chipped in 11 points each. Wyatt pitched in 10 points in the victory and Ke’Asia Williams followed closely behind with eight points.
The Buccaneers used their explosive offense to jump out to a 19-7 lead in the opening quarter. At the break, Blinn had built its lead to 40-19. The Buccaneers carried the momentum into the third quarter with 23 points to stay ahead of Coastal Bend 63-39. In the final quarter, Blinn held Coastal Bend to eight points to walk off the court with a 75-47 win.
The win marked Blinn’s second straight win to improve the Buccaneers’ overall record to 12-15 and Region XIV record to 5-12.
The Buccaneers will continue conference play on the road against Angelina College on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
