The Buccaneers held off Kilgore College 76-63 in Kilgore, Texas, to maintain their hold on the top spot in the region.
Blinn is now 25-1 overall and 11-0 in conference play.
The game was broadcast on ESPN Plus, Blinn women’s basketball’s debut appearance on the platform.
“I’m very proud of our team,” Bucs head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “It was a great atmosphere at Kilgore, and we played on ESPN Plus for the first time. I thought we handled the crowd and TV extremely well.”
Blinn trailed 16-15 after the first period but rallied to grab a 40-33 halftime edge. The Bucs’ cushion grew to 63-52 after three quarters of play.
Sophomore forward Tiffany Tullis had a double-double with a team-high 19 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Skylar Barnes finished with 15 points and five boards. Sophomore guards Hannah Humphrey, Makayla Patterson, and Jakoriah Long posted 12, 10, and 10 points, respectively.
Blinn’s season continues when it faces region foe Paris Junior College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
