The Austin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a disturbance that occurred early Sunday morning at the Kenney Store.
Deputies were dispatched to Kenney about 12:20 a.m. on August 30, 2020 for a fight in progress involving 20 to 30 persons. Two persons sustained injuries.
One person, age 22, was taken by private vehicle to Bellville Medical Center with head injuries from being struck by a beer bottle. He was released from the hospital about 3 hours later.
Another person, age 21, was reportedly hit in the head with a beer bottle and was taken by Austin County EMS to Brenham for evaluation.
Officers are reviewing video from the Kenney Store. Many of the people involved in the disturbance left the scene before officers could arrive.
No arrests have been made.
Sheriff Jack Brandes said officers are continuing the investigation.
“The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission has also been notified of this matter,” Sheriff Brandes added.
