Blinn College volleyball head coach Terry Gamble recently was named one of the 2021 American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College Region Coaches of the Year.
The accolade is awarded to eight coaches – four in the Southwest Region, two in the Midwest Region, and two in the Northeast/Southeast Region.
“When awards and achievements such as this are given out in a team sport, there are so many people that contribute to this,” Gamble said. “I share this with my wife Krista and my family, my assistant coaches and staff, Blinn College, and especially my players. You are all a part of this and thank you for everything you do for me and our program.”
Gamble is one of four coaches to earn the honor out of the Southwest Region after the Buccaneers posted a 39-4 record this season. Blinn enjoyed a 38-match winning streak, won the Region XIV regular-season championship as well as the region tournament title, and entered the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship as the No. 1 seed.
The Buccaneers finished eighth overall in the nation.
Gamble also was named the Region XIV Coach of the Year.
In four seasons at Blinn, Gamble has compiled a 124-25 record. In total, Gamble has 996 career victories as a collegiate volleyball coach.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
