The Buccaneers are now 15-1 overall following their sixth consecutive win.

“I was proud of our team and our defensive effort,” Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “The ladies will now get to enjoy a well-deserved day off after going hard for 16 straight days. They deserve the rest.”

Blinn is now off until it faces Kilgore College in a region home tilt at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.

Against Jacksonville, the Bucs trailed 13-12 after the first period but outscored the hosts 19-5 in the second to take a 31-18 advantage into halftime.

Blinn built a 51-30 cushion by the end of the third period.

Leading the way offensively for the Bucs was sophomore guardย Skylar Barnes, who posted 17 points. Sophomore guardย Jakoriah Longย added 14, and sophomore forwardย Tiffany Tullisย and sophomore guardย Crystal Smithย added 11 apiece. Sophomore guardย Hannah Humphreyย finished with eight points.
