Fall is in the air and with the cooling of the temperatures comes the excitement of the holidays. This year I have decided to go with a classic look for my holiday décor. I will be using Mason jars that have been stained, painted, wrapped and decorated. These timeless pieces of glass can be used for more things than I have time to write about. I adore looking around Pinterest for great ideas. Some of the things you find will have details on how to make the pictured item. Some of the things are for sale from online shops like Etsy. Some of the pictures are just pictures that you can use to fuel your own imagination!

Mason jars (or Ball jars) can be used in their natural clear state or they can be colored, tinted or painted. At Craftaholics Anonymous they give you some great ideas on coloring Mason jars.

If you aren’t the crafty type or just don’t have time to color or paint your Mason (or Ball) jars you might want to consider purchasing them from some of the small businesses that
live on Etsy or other crafting type outlets.mason jar 2

This darling set of jars in a planter box is an example of items that can be purchased online.

Love the shape of a Mason jar but want something with a little more “wow”? Try wrapping leaves, lace, burlap or raffia around the jars. You can combine paint, string and something botanical for a unique look.
