On Monday, September 11, 2023, the Westside Narcotics Task Force, a combined effort of various law enforcement agencies, carried out a routine traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Austin County. What initially appeared to be a simple traffic violation escalated into a major drug-related incident, resulting in the apprehension of Cody Greer, a New Mexico resident.

Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies converged on mile marker 718 Eastbound on Interstate 10, pulling over Cody Greer during what seemed like a regular traffic stop. However, the situation quickly took a turn when suspicious evidence emerged.

Cody Greer now faces a slew of serious charges, including three counts of Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. These charges underline the gravity of the alleged offenses and carry severe penalties.

While specific details regarding the seized narcotics and the exact sum of confiscated currency have not been disclosed, the operation successfully netted illegal narcotics, a substantial amount of U.S. currency, and a firearm. The presence of these items indicates potential involvement in illicit activities with the ominous potential for violence.

The investigation into this case is presently ongoing, with law enforcement agencies collaborating closely to gather additional evidence and information.
