I had a cat that would chase a laser dot…every time…all day long. Whenever I got it out he got excited. You could see his breathing increase and he would become visibly agitated in anticipation of the laser dot. A cat, who wouldn’t come when I called, wouldn’t sit or stay on command, was literally under my control when the laser was present. And I could make him do crazy stuff!
He never once realized he could never catch that dot, and he never, ever realized I was in complete control.
Facebook’s new feature of replaying posts of the past has allowed me to see patterns in politics. Budget crisis, again. Government shutdown, again. Every year, same time, same reaction. Our breath quickens, we become agitated in anticipation of this “new crisis.” What will we do if the government doesn’t raise the debt ceiling? What will we do if we can’t pay out government funds?
We are once again chasing the same old dot. Never realizing who is in complete control. Time to realize some facts:
1. There is no dot to catch. There is no budget crisis. The government is simply spending more money than they have. No budget crisis…its a morality crisis.
2. The government doesn’t need to raise the debt ceiling, i.e. spend even more that they don’t have, they need to stop spending. Period.
3. The government has a spending problem because Americans have a government addiction problem.
4. All of the drama of the crisis would end today if we just stopped chasing the dot and realized who is really in control. http://goo.gl/QQfGLM

She is a disabled veteran of the US Army, a Russian linguist, a mother, a pastor’s wife and a patriot. She now travels the country and teaches the Constitution and the history that gave us our founding documents. KrisAnne Hall does not just teach the Constitution, she lays the foundations that show how reliable and relevant our founding documents are today. She presents the “genealogy” of the Constitution– the 700 year history and five foundational documents that are the very Roots of American Liberty.
