Description
Support day-to-day operations at the Kruse Center on Blinn College’s Brenham Campus, serving members and the college community. This part-time position offers a maximum of 19 hours per week, with varied hours including evenings and weekends.
What you'll do
- Provide front-counter customer service and circulate through fitness and recreation areas to maintain a safe environment.
- Supervise patrons and enforce facility policies, including dress requirements and restrictions on bags.
- Assist with home athletic events, intramural sports, and recreation activities, providing crisis intervention as needed.
- Open and close the building, check equipment, and report injuries, theft, or broken equipment to the supervisor.
- Attend relevant training sessions, meetings, workshops, and departmental events to support recreation operations.
What you'll bring
- Ability to work late nights and weekends, with a schedule adaptable to program needs.
- General knowledge of recreational sports, arts, cultural activities, weight equipment, and lifting techniques.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet time constraints, and follow written, verbal, and demonstrated instructions.
- Effective communication skills and general knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification, fitness or recreation facility experience, and supervisory experience are preferred.
- Ability to referee intramural sports and demonstrate proper weightlifting techniques is preferred.
- Physical demands include lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds, standing, walking, repeated bending, pushing, and climbing.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
