Brenham ISD is seeking a Third Grade Reading Teacher at Alton Elementary. Help students reach their potential through learning experiences that support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
What you'll do
- Plan and implement lessons aligned with district requirements, accommodating different student abilities, learning styles, and language needs.
- Coordinate with special education teachers to modify curricula according to students’ Individual Education Plans.
- Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing, providing remediation to support mastery.
- Create a classroom environment that supports active learning and manage student behavior.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators, and participate in professional development.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate.
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assigned subjects, current research, and applicable laws and procedures.
- Skills in classroom management, communication, adapting instruction, and working collaboratively in team-based environments.
- Ability to use classroom equipment and computer tools, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and lift and/or carry at least 30 pounds.
