The holiday season is fast approaching, and with all the festive treats and gatherings, staying on track with your health can be challenging. But what if you could maintain your weight—or even lose a little—without missing out on the celebrations? The Multi-County Community Wellness program is here to help with Holiday Hold’em, a no-cost wellness challenge that starts soon, announced Michelle Wright, Distinguished Extension Agent – Family & Community Health.
Holiday Hold’em focuses on keeping you healthy and energized throughout the season. Participants are encouraged to consume five servings of fruits and vegetables daily and stay active. The program includes interactive activities and scenarios to support healthy decision-making, ensuring you can enjoy the holidays while prioritizing your well-being. Starting November 24th, participants will weigh in weekly at home, their local fitness center, or another preferred location. Weight and health logs are provided to help track progress, and participants will receive weekly newsletters full of tips and encouragement to stay on track.
The best part? It takes less than five minutes each week to take part in this challenge, making it easy to fit into even the busiest holiday schedules. You can make it fun by inviting your family, friends, or coworkers to join too! Together, you can motivate each other to maintain, not gain this holiday season. To register for this online wellness challenge, click HERE. Be sure to sign up by November 20th to be ready for the November 24th kickoff. Participants will begin receiving weekly newsletters after kickoff, and those without email can still join by calling the Fayette County office at 979-968-5831 to sign up for mailed information. All participant details will be kept confidential.
Join Holiday Hold’em and make this season about celebrating health and community!
