Downtown Sealy was filled with ghosts and goblins this past Friday night. Of course, it was Halloween so the ghosts and goblins were busy playing games and listening to good music. Two blocks of downtown Sealy was blocked off for the first annual Boo Bash. There was food, fun and lots of candy for those who came out to the event.
“American Idol” finalist Jesse Roach, was the performer of the evening. Shops were kept open late until 7 pm and local business all participated in the event. Members of the Tippitt Dental team were there handing out Dracula teeth, candy and of course tooth brushes to the trick or treaters.
Super heroes, villains and even a ninja or two were spotted crawling in and out of the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department truck that was on display. The department blocked off the end of main street and let children ring the bell and volunteers were there to answer questions and let the kids meet the real heroes of our community.
The Sealy News offered festive photos and fortune telling. Citizens State Bank was there handing out candy to the children and The First United Methodist Church Mom’s Day Out program sponsored a new twist to the ring toss game using witches hats.
Sealy Mayor Mark Stolarski was there dressed as a Civil War soldier and Sheriff Jack Brandes was on hand to give out safety coloring books to the children. Other County officials were seen enjoying the music and festivities.
County Commissioner Pct. 4, Randy Reichardt was present with the Cat Spring Volunteer Fire Department. They brought the famous Fire Dog out to entertain the children and adults.
As the night dwindled down and the candy was all given out there were only remnants of the festivities as the clean-up crews began to take down the blockades and put to rest Sealy’s First Annual Boo Bash sponsored by The Sealy Main Street Program.
