The Texas Association of Fairs & Events Convention was a big success for the Austin County Fair Association. Directors and staff participated in valuable sessions on safety, alcohol regulations, entertainment, and marketing. They also moderated a session specifically for small and medium sized fairs and events to address the unique challenges they face. Safety and entertainment costs were hot topics of discussion.

The Austin County Fair Association took home several awards at the convention, including the 2023 Ray Cammack Shows Awards of Excellence for Marketing and Communications for fairs or events under 50,000 in attendance. They won first place for best media guide, best newspaper ad in color, best scholarship program, best overall sponsorship program, best event poster, best photo, best radio commercial, best specialty video, and best overall convention display. They also earned second place for best magazine ad in color and best newspaper insert or supplement.

The Austin County Fair Association is grateful for the support of their press and marketing partners, who help them promote their annual fair throughout the Brazos River Valley. The fair attracts around 24,000 visitors to the fairgrounds each year. As a 501©3 non-profit, the association aims to promote the agricultural lifestyle through events such as livestock and home economic shows, a carnival, a PRCA rodeo, and concerts featuring Texas and Nashville country music artists.

Mark your calendars now! The 2023 Austin County Fair will take place from October 6th to 15th. Stay tuned for more information to come this summer.
