Many in Austin County have had concerns about the pipeline that is to run through Austin County.  The Matterhorn Express Pipeline will stretch across Texas cutting right through the middle of Austin County.  At more than 400 miles WhiteWater Midstream is the Austin-based company behind the project.  Their website describes the project as:

“Matterhorn Express is a Joint Venture with WhiteWater, EnLink Midstream, Devon Energy, and MPLX. Matterhorn Express is an approximately 490-mile, 42-inch intrastate pipeline designed to transport up to 2.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas from the Permian Basin, to the Katy area near Houston, Texas. An approximate 80 lateral provides connectivity for gas processors in the Midland Basin. For inquiries regarding pipeline services and subscriptions, contact [email protected]

As the courthouse has been contacted more and more with questions on the project, Austin County Judge Tim Lapham had representatives come and give the commissioners court a presentation on the pipeline and how exactly it would affect Austin County.  Representatives came to not only give their presentation but, to field questions from the court as well as the public.  The entire presentation and Q&A can be seen below:

A complete map of the pipeline can be downloaded at this LINK.  We will be adding to this story but, wanted to get the video out ASAP for the public to view.  We are trying to get additional information above what the presentation gave from the pipeline representatives and will update the story as information is forth coming.

Below are the 2 visual aids that were used in the presentation on our Instagram Page.
