BRENHAM, Texas – Blinn College men’s basketball is starting to find its rhythm on offense and it showed in a 132-70 beating of Lone Star College-Tomball Dec. 31 in Brenham.
The win for the Buccaneers is their fifth in a row, which includes two conference games in that stretch to improve their overall record to 11-2 and 3-1 in conference play.
Trey Edwards showed a lot of confidence on offense for Blinn as he led the team with 23 points in the win. Morris Dunnigan was close behind with 22 points and Vicktor Arnick chipped in 19 points.
Jalan McCloud was able to reach 14 points, Cody Everitt had 11 and Ja’Cardo Hawkins and Tyler Pate each scored 10 points. Pate scored all of his points in the second half and it was his first game back after recovering from an injury.
“The offense is starting to know what they are looking for now,” said Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher.
Blinn came out from the beginning and took control and never let go of the momentum and grabbed a 64-35 lead. The Buccaneers were able to extend their lead in the second half in their final performance of 2014.
“We did a good job of moving the ball on offense and playing unselfish,” Schumacher said.
