The Buccaneers’ Jaydon Flores and Brett Fahrenholz were victorious in one-on-one matchups while Christian Ekpenike fell short.
Flores topped his opponent from Potomac State College to improve to 6-0 on the year and qualify for the NJCAAE playoffs. Fahrenholz topped his foe from Bryant & Stratton and moved to 6-0 while also punching his playoff ticket. Ekpenike fell to his opponent from Bryant & Stratton and dropped to 4-2 overall. Ekpenike was eliminated from playoff contention.
“Regardless of the results, all the players showed up and performed exceptionally well throughout the entire season,” Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. “We have one more week to go in the regular season and we are looking to finish strong before we set our sights on our playoff matches.”
Blinn Super Smash Bros returns to play at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29. The fourth-ranked Buccaneer Valorant team takes on Bryant & Stratton at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
