Blinn College is inviting the community to join it in celebrating the 2014 national champion Buccaneer volleyball team.
The Blinn College Foundation and Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen Association will host a celebratory luncheon at 11 a.m. Jan. 24 in the Janis Sneed Banquet Room located inside the Brenham campus Student Center (map).
Individual tickets are $25 and tables of eight are available for $300, which includes a VIP reception with the athletes, coaches, Blinn College Board of Trustees and Board.
The Lettermen Association will also present Sen. Lois W. Kolkhorst the Don Wilhelm PHD Award, which is presented to deserving individuals for their pride, honor and dedication to their community.

The Buccaneers went 40-1 and won the Region XIV Conference championship on their way to the NJCAA Division I title, the fourth national championship in program history and the team’s third in the last four years. Blinn closed the season by winning its final 25 matches, including four matches at the Division I National Championships in Casper, Wyo.
Head coach Erin Mellinger was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Two-Year College Coach of the Year following the season. Rebecca Reeve was named Most Valuable Player at the national tournament while Alyssa LaMont and Abonlanle Onipede were named to the all-tournament team.
Three players were also named NJCAA All-Americans as Reeve was named to the first team while Trinity Alualu and Jordyn Keamo were named to the second team.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 30 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
