Following the recent approval of Propositions A and B in the 2023 Bond, Bellville Independent School District (ISD) is gearing up for significant changes that will shape the future of education in the community. Among these changes is the relocation of students from the existing O’Bryant Intermediate Campus to the Junior High Campus.

With this transition comes the recognition of the historical significance of the O’Bryant Intermediate Campus within the fabric of Bellville ISD. As plans move forward to repurpose the site to better accommodate parking and traffic flow for the O’Bryant Primary Campus, the district is keen on commemorating the legacy of the O’Bryant Intermediate Campus.

To facilitate this process, Bellville ISD is inviting community members to participate in a committee meeting slated for Monday, May 20th at 4:30 PM at the O’Bryant Intermediate Library. The purpose of this meeting is to engage in a collaborative discussion on how best to honor the role of the O’Bryant Intermediate Campus in the history of Bellville ISD schools.

The O’Bryant Intermediate Campus has served as a focal point for generations of students, educators, and community members alike. Its legacy is woven into the very fabric of the district, and it is imperative that its contributions are duly recognized and commemorated as the district moves forward with its redevelopment plans.

This committee meeting presents an opportunity for individuals from all walks of life—former students, teachers, parents, and residents—to share their perspectives and ideas on how to appropriately commemorate the O’Bryant Intermediate Campus. Whether through memorial plaques, historical displays, or other means, community input will play a crucial role in shaping the future commemoration efforts.

In an effort to gather diverse perspectives and ideas from the community, Bellville ISD has also launched a Google Form dedicated to capturing input on the commemoration of the O’Bryant Intermediate Campus. The form invites individuals to share their suggestions and ideas on how best to honor the role of the existing campus in the history of the Bellville community, particularly as the district prepares for its transition away from the facility and the relocation of students to the existing junior high campus. Participants are encouraged to provide their name, contact information, and detailed suggestions through the text box provided. This initiative aims to ensure that the commemoration efforts reflect the collective sentiments and aspirations of the Bellville community.  You can access the form by clicking HERE.
