The burn ban placed on Austin County on October 25th has been rescinded. After deliberation in commissioners court yesterday, it was felt that the burn ban could be lifted. Judge Tim Lapham stated that the lower half of Austin County was still orange showing increase concern for burning. This is also why Wharton County still has their burn ban in place. Other than Wharton County, the other surrounding counties to Austin County have dropped their burn ban. The consensus among the commissioners was that the supposed rainfall predicted for Friday that the weather change should make burning a less hazardous situation for Austin County.
