The Horticulture Committee of Austin County, in collaboration with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is set to host a Small Farms & Vegetable Conference on Friday, February 28, at the American Legion Post #442, located at 1630 Meyer St., Sealy.

This educational event will provide attendees the opportunity to earn five Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and gain valuable insights into sustainable farming and gardening practices. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the first presentation starting promptly at 9:00 a.m.

The conference will feature expert-led sessions covering a range of topics:

Hydroponics – Dr. Joe Masabni
Invasive Plants & Control – Dr. Stacy Hines
Pest Management in Home Gardens – Dr. Jose Santiago Gonzales
Updates on Pesticide Laws & Regulations – Greg Baker
Why Healthy Plants Don’t Get Pests – Gerald DuPont
The cost to attend is $35 per person or $60 per couple, which includes breakfast and lunch.
