Arrest Made in Bellville: Reckless Firearm Discharge and Trespassing at Park Place Apartments

Carlo DeWayne Shelly, a 26-year-old individual residing in Dallas, was arrested last night at Park Place Apartments, located at 20 South Harris Street in Bellville. Earlier in the day, Shelly had received a criminal trespass warning due to his behavior and was promptly escorted off the premises at the request of the authorities. However, his return to the apartment complex later that evening to retrieve a misplaced firearm led to his encounter with law enforcement.

At the time of Shelly’s reappearance, an officer happened to be in the vicinity and witnessed the unfolding events. Shelly proceeded to discharge the firearm into the air approximately seven times. Prompted by this reckless act, the officer confronted Shelly, drawing his own firearm to ensure the safety of those present. Fortunately, Shelly complied with the officer’s commands and was taken into custody without any further incident.

As a result of his actions, Shelly now faces two charges. The primary offense levied against him is Deadly Conduct, which falls under the category of a felony of the third degree. This charge specifically pertains to the act of discharging a firearm. Additionally, Shelly is also charged with Criminal Trespassing, which is classified as a misdemeanor of class B.

Following the arrest, Shelly was booked into the Austin County Jail last night. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
