The Sealy Fire Department is proud to congratulate Senior Captain Randy Ostwald on his retirement from the Houston Fire Department after 32 years of dedicated service. Randy’s commitment to the Houston Fire Department is an incredible accomplishment that deserves recognition and admiration.
Randy served as an Engineer Operator with the Houston Fire Department, a position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of firefighters and citizens during emergencies. The Engineer Operator is responsible for driving and operating the fire apparatus, including the fire engine, ladder truck, and other firefighting vehicles. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as extensive knowledge of fire suppression techniques and equipment.
During his tenure with the Houston Fire Department, Randy displayed a tireless work ethic, a strong commitment to public service, and a deep passion for the firefighting profession. He was a valuable member of the department and will be missed by his colleagues and the community he served.
However, we are delighted to announce that Randy plans to continue his service with the Sealy Fire Department. Since 2009, he has been an integral part of the Sealy Fire Department, serving as Senior Captain. In this role, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, mentoring and guiding Sealy Firefighters to become the best they can be.
As Senior Captain, Randy is responsible for leading a team of firefighters, overseeing training and operations, and ensuring that all equipment is maintained and ready for use. His experience and expertise have been invaluable to the Sealy Fire Department, and Sealy Fire is glad to have him continue to serve with them.
Randy’s retirement from the Houston Fire Department is a well-deserved milestone in his career, one that he can be proud of. We thank him for his dedicated service to the Houston Fire Department and look forward to seeing him continue to work with the Sealy Fire Department in the years to come.
