JACKSONVILLE, Texas – Blinn College women’s basketball had a hard time putting the ball in the basket and it was even more difficult to stop Jacksonville College in a 76-44 loss in Jacksonville Feb. 7.
The game didn’t start out any better as Blinn trailed 42-29 at the half and then only scored 15 points in the second half.
Katelynn Johnson shot the ball well in the first half and hit five 3-pointers to lead the Buccaneers with 15 points. Nancy Warioba chipped in seven points and Alexus Freeman finished with six in the rough road loss.
Blinn has had games where it played poor on one side of the ball and was able to pull out a win but with both sides of the ball misfiring it was a difficult task to overcome a stout Jacksonville team.
Blinn will be on the road again Feb. 11 when it travels to face Tyler Junior College at 5:30 p.m.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 29 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
