PRESS RELEASE FROM AUSTIN COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT
On this day, October 31, 2014, Sheriff Brandes was contacted by Tommy Johnson and Rosemary Rodriguez with information concerning the location of Jose Haro. They informed Sheriff Brandes that Jose Haro wanted to turn himself in concerning his escape from the Austin County Courthouse on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Rosemary Rodriguez contacted Jose Haro by phone and arranged for Sheriff Brandes to meet him at a prescribed location and he would surrender himself to the Sheriff. This day, October 31, 2014 @ 2:25 p.m., Sheriff Brandes met Tommy Johnson and Rosemary Rodriguez at the prescribed location and took Jose Haro into custody and transported him to the Austin County Jail without incident. This is a prime example of citizens and the Sheriff’s Office working together. By this, the Sheriff’s Office was able to take this person into custody without risk of injury to anyone. Our sincere thanks to Tommy Johnson and Rosemary Rodriguez for their help concerning this matter.
