KILGORE, Texas – Blinn College women’s basketball did not play aggressive and Kilgore College took advantage with a 65-54 victory Wednesday night.
The Buccaneers now fall to 0-2 in Region XIV play and 4-4 overall with the loss at Kilgore.
Jade Rochelle was able to lead Blinn with 15 points and chip in eight rebounds. Ke’Asia Williams scored 13 points and finished with seven rebounds. Daikea Milton scored 13 points while Ashley Caldwell hauled in seven rebounds.
Blinn didn’t start off too bad as the Buccaneers were tied with Kilgore 17-17 after the first quarter. Unfortunately, after that quarter, Kilgore just continued to boost the lead in each quarter.
Blinn was outrebounded 53-45 and made just 5-of-31 from the 3-point line. The Buccaneers lack of aggressive play showed up in the box score as Blinn only shot two free throws the entire game. The Buccaneers trailed by four at halftime, seven after three and lost by 11.
Blinn will try and break its two-game losing streak with a home game against Bossier Parish Community College at home Saturday at 2 p.m.
