HOUSTON, Texas – Blinn College women’s basketball had a hard time finding and hitting shots in a 56-37 loss to No. 19 San Jacinto College-North Saturday afternoon.
With its second consecutive road loss, Blinn falls to 16-9 overall and 9-6 in Region XIV play.
Ke’Asia Williams was the only Buccaneers in double figures with 15 points while Brenisha Coleman added seven points and Jasmine Redmon chipped in six points.
San Jacinto did a good job of shutting down lanes for Blinn right from the beginning and grabbed a 16-10 lead after one quarter. In its best quarter, Blinn was able to outscore San Jacinto 12-9 and get within 25-22 at the half.
That would be the last time that Blinn found momentum as San Jacinto came out and outscored Blinn 15-10 to grab a 40-32 lead. The Buccaneers were within striking distance to start the fourth quarter but only scored five points and San Jacinto took advantage to cruise to the 19-point victory.
Blinn will next play in its fifth consecutive road game on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Paris Junior College at 5:30 p.m. Paris is currently 2-10 in Region XIV games through 12 games.
