In the early hours of Friday, June 14, 2024, law enforcement authorities successfully apprehended Clarence Cloud, a 31-year-old fugitive, in the 1400 block of FM 109. Cloud, wanted on a felony arrest warrant issued by Harris County for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, was tracked down and arrested by members of the US Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force.

The operation, conducted at a New Ulm residence, saw the participation of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team, including their new K9 unit, Knox. The arrest was carried out without incident, and Cloud was subsequently transported to the Austin County Jail for booking.

Support for the operation was provided by marked patrol units from both the Austin County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office expressed pride in being an active member of the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, underscoring their commitment to public safety and justice.
