Austin County News Online would like to thank our viewers. On June 24, 2014 Austin County News Online went live with its first video report. Ranching Accident ends with Life Flight. Since that day Austin County News Online has grown from hundreds of views a week to 3000 to 4000 views each week and still growing!
On that summer day while passing by a large parking lot in Sealy we saw what looked like Austin County Emergency Services setting up to receive life flight. Greg Stuessel owner of Austin County News Online said, “wouldn’t it be great if everyone in Austin County could see Austin County EMS in action?” And the dream was born.
At that time questions were still looming as to whether or not to have a county wide EMS or to contract out to St. Josephs. His idea was to let people in the area see the things that so many just take for granted or never see because it is not covered by the big stations from Houston.
“It is my hope that this will unite Austin County and create a sense of community among our readers and viewers,” said Stuessel. By covering local events with video and putting them online so that people can see them any time of the day Austin County News Online is doing just that. “Most of all it is our followers that is making this possible” said Stuessel. “We are giving the area what it wants, by covering local events such as Sealybration and countless others everyone is able to see just what this great community has to offer.”
The dream of Austin County News Online is to focus on what makes Austin County special, and create a sense for a Buy Local Go Local atmosphere. By teaming up with local businesses, and helping them showcase their products and services Austin County News Online is meeting that goal. “We want to help our local businesses,” said Stuessel.
