The Austin County Sheriff’s Department released details of a shooting that happened last Thursday during a burglary in Wallis, TX. The press release was as follows:
On 6/16/2016 at 8:46 a.m., the Austin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from 635 Bob White Lane, Wallis TX informing them of a burglary in progress at that location and the victim had been shot. Austin County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators, Austin County EMS, Austin County Pct. 4 Constable, Wallis Fire Department and City of Wallis Police Officers were immediately dispatched to that location. On arrival, they found a female victim who had been shot in the leg. A search by both deputies and police officers on the ground and by aircraft failed to locate an intruder. The victim was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, condition unknown at this time. This case is currently under investigation by the Austin County Sheriff’s Office.
