Walk Across Texas – 2nd Week Report
Bellville and Brazos ISD are off getting things done in 2020 with Walk Across Texas in
Austin County!! At the end of the 2nd week, several classes are moving really fast in
their quest to gain ground in Walk Across Texas. To date, the participants and their
families have walked 25,912 miles at the end of the 2nd week. Everyone is cruising
O’Bryant Primary has 12,754 miles. O’Bryant Intermediate is sitting with 5,750 miles.
West End Elementary is cruising right along with 4,465 miles. Brazos Elementary is
blazing trails with 2,943 miles.
In Bellville, Kindergarten results are:Mrs. Hardin – 322 miles; Mrs. McGlothen–283
miles; and Mrs.Price – 206 miles. First grade results are:Mrs. Locke–4,580 miles;
Mrs. Bilksi – 681 miles; and Mrs. Carlile – 173 miles. Second grade results are: Mrs.
Ables– 399 miles; Mrs. Peschel – 375 miles; and Mrs. Hulsey – 251 miles. Third
grade results are: Mrs. Froebel– 1918 miles; Mrs. Leuschner– 802 miles; and Mrs.
Lewis –605 miles. Fourth grade results are: Mrs. Diezi– 741 miles; Mrs. Biehunko–
725 miles; and Mrs. Newman – 660 miles. Fifth grade results are: Mrs.Durham –
862 miles; Mrs. Greenville – 485 miles; and Mrs. Vincik– 275 miles. At West End,
the results are: Mrs. Orduna (2ndGrade) – 817; Mrs. Blezinger (5thGrade) – 617
miles; Mrs.Peschel (1st) –564 miles.
On the south end of the county, Brazos results stand as: Pre-K – Mrs. Holub – 453;
and Mrs. Eder – 203.5 miles; Kindergarten – Mrs. Mendieta – 295 miles; and Mrs.
Kalina –19 miles. First grade results are: Mrs. Chupik – 775 miles; Mrs. Frnka – 150
miles; and Mrs. Ezell – 69 miles. Second grade results are: Mrs. Hudgins – 267.5
miles; and Mrs. Schwartz – 214 miles; and Mrs. Eze. Third grade results are: Mrs.
Polak – 256 miles; Mrs. Fajkus – 115.25 miles; and Mrs.Schauer – 23 miles. Fourth
grade results are: Mrs. Thompson – 286 miles; Mrs. McCain–8 miles; Mrs.Suarez –
and Mrs. Maier – 225 miles. Keep it up everyone because you are off to a great start!

Walk Across Texas@ is an 8 week walking program promoted by the Texas A&M
AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M School for Rural Public Health. Locally,
the fun and fitness program is being sponsored by the Family and Consumer Sciences
Advisory Board of the Austin County Extension Service. Educational programs of the
Texas AgriLife Extension Service are open to all people without regard to race, color,
