The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be holding the Overton Pesticide Continuing Education Units Program virtually on Nov. 3.
The program will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. via the Zoom online meeting platform. Registration is $35 per person. Go to https://tx.ag/OvertonCEUWorkshop to register.
A total of five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available, including one laws and regulations, one integrated pest management and three general. Practice sessions will be offered during the week of the meeting for those needing to ensure they have a connection before attending.

Program agenda and topics
The program is open to applicators statewide and will provide an opportunity for producers to receive continuing education units virtually. There will be two sessions with a break for lunch.
The morning session will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. with the afternoon session running from 1-3 p.m. Topics will cover the following:
- Feral hog management: An IPM approach, Mikayla Killam, AgriLife Extension wildlife program specialist, Bryan-College Station.
- Laws and regulations of pesticide use, Brad Tullis, assistant regional director-pesticides, Texas Department of Agriculture, Houston.
- Weed control in pastures and hay fields, Vanessa Corriher-Olson, AgriLife Extension forage specialist and professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Overton.
- Weed control in lawns and turfgrass, Manuel Chavarria, assistant professor and AgriLife Extension turfgrass specialist and assistant professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Bryan-College Station.
- Spray equipment and spray tip selection, Jason Banta, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist and assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science, Overton.
