Austin County News Online previously reported on an incident near FM 1094. Since our initial report we have received updated information from the Austin County Sherriff’s Office.

On September 16, 2024, Austin County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies discovered the body of Chase Dorman in the 15000 block of FM 1094. After an investigation, ACSO’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) revealed that Dorman was attempting to steal a tractor when he was tragically run over by the same vehicle. Witnesses reported that after taking the tractor, Dorman stopped to adjust the gears, during which time the tractor rolled over him.

 

 

Three individuals—Michael Frank Ford (18), William Bradley Laroche (17), and Curtis Earl Mosley Jr. (25)—have been implicated in Dorman’s death and the tractor theft. Ford and Laroche, both from Magnolia, Texas, were arrested on September 25, 2024, with the assistance of Montgomery County Constable PCT 5. Curtis Mosley, a resident of Austin County, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. All three face charges of First-Degree Felony Murder.

 

 

This investigation was led by the ACSO CID with support from the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Constable PCT 5, the Austin County District Attorney, and the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Offender Task Force.
