At the recent Bellville EDC Meeting held in Bellville, Texas, it was announced that the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDot) is set to initiate a series of upgrades for two key intersections in Bellville, Texas. The intersections of Hwy 36 and E Main St by Newman’s Bakery, as well as Hwy 36 and FM 2429, will undergo significant improvements. Alongside the replacement of lights at Hwy 36 and E Main St, street lights will be installed at the Hwy 36 and FM 2429 intersection just down the road from Faith Academy. Additionally, a new entrance into TLD Ramp, aligned with FM 2429, will be constructed. These enhancements aim to enhance visibility, streamline traffic flow, and provide a safer commuting experience for residents and visitors.

Replacement of Lights at Hwy 36 and E Main St (July 2023):

TXDot will initiate the replacement process of the existing lights at the four-way intersection of Hwy 36 and E Main St. The current wire-hung lights will be replaced with sturdy poles, offering increased stability and longevity. This upgrade will improve both aesthetics and safety by providing better visibility for motorists and pedestrians, particularly during nighttime hours.

Installation of Street Lights at Hwy 36 and FM 2429 (September 2023):

Recognizing the need for improved safety measures, TXDot will install street lights at the intersection of Hwy 36 and FM 2429. The addition of these lights will enhance visibility, reducing potential risks and increasing driver confidence, especially during nighttime travel. The street lights aim to create a safer commuting environment for all road users.

Construction of New Entrance into TLD Ramp:

In a bid to improve traffic flow and accessibility, TXDot will construct a new entrance into TLD Ramp, aligning it with FM 2429. This development will enable smoother access to the facility, easing congestion and enhancing connectivity within the area. The new entrance aims to facilitate a more efficient travel experience, saving time for commuters and enhancing overall transportation efficiency.

As the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDot) initiates the intersection upgrades and street light installations in Bellville, it is important for residents to be aware of the potential impact on their daily commutes. During the construction phase, temporary disruptions, lane closures, and altered traffic patterns may occur at the intersections of Hwy 36 and E Main St, as well as Hwy 36 and FM 2429. As a precautionary measure, residents are advised to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and consider alternative routes to minimize inconvenience.
