The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Travis County will host a “Trees: Your Landscape Legacy” webinar on April 10 as part of its continuing 2024 Texas Tough Plants educational series.
The free webinar will be held on the Zoom platform from 10 a.m.-noon. Participants can register at https://tx.ag/LandscapeLegacyTrees. The webinar is limited to 100 attendees but all who register will have access to view the recording after the webinar ends.
After participants are registered, they will receive a link for the live session or a recording, said Daphne Richards, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent in Travis County.
Importance of choosing the right tree
The featured speaker will be Travis County Master Gardener tree specialist Yvonne Schneider, Austin. Schneider will present on the benefits trees provide for home landscapes and the environment.
A special focus on choosing the right tree that is well suited for the Austin area soil and climate conditions will also be discussed, Richards said.
“Yvonne received her ‘tree specialist’ designation through Texas Master Gardeners coursework and educational outreach in her community,” Richards said. “She also has done research on oak wilt and serves as a resource for her neighborhood. Her experience has been invaluable.”
Questions will be submitted as time allows, and those not answered in time will be emailed to participants after the webinar ends. Viewers of the recorded sessions can send their questions to the Travis County Master Gardener help desk at [email protected].
