The third-ranked Bucs won both matches 3-0 to run their win streak to 13 straight and their season record to 14-1. Blinn dominated play Friday, beating Hill County College 25-18, 25-17, 25-14 in the early match and Brookhaven College 25-10, 25-6, 25-14 in the second match.
“I thought the girls played really well as a team today,” head coach Terry Gamble said. “If we keep getting better, we can do some nice things.
Jayde Shelton led Blinn in kills in both matches, getting 14 against Hill County College and 11 against Brookhaven. She had a .590 attack percentage against Hill and a .625 attack percentage against Brookhaven.
Chard’e Van Zandt, Ashley Taylor, Guilia Hortelan, and Reagan Casey had six kills each against Hill County. Against Brookhaven, Van Zandt added 10 kills and Taylor seven.
Lixai Velez led Blinn in digs in both matches, with six against Hill County and 10 against Brookhaven.
The Bucs were scheduled to play Dallas College-Cedar Valley at 10 a.m. Saturday and Texas College at 4 p.m.
