The Buccaneers kept their perfect start to the season intact, improving to 4-0. Each of Blinn’s victories have come on the road.
“It was a good team win on the road tonight,” Buccaneers head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “I was proud of everybody’s effort. We will take a well-deserved day off Friday and get back to work Saturday.”
Blinn maintained control of the ballgame from start to finish, taking a 26-17 advantage into the second quarter before carrying a 52-32 cushion into halftime. The Bucs led 66-51 heading into the fourth period.
Sophomore guard Jakoriah Long paced the Bucs with 18 points, making her the third different leading scorer for Blinn so far this season. Sophomore forward Tiffany Tullis followed with 16 points, and sophomore guards Skylar Barnes, Hannah Humphrey, and Makayla Patterson tallied 16, 15, and 14, respectively. Sophomore guard Crystal Smith chipped in nine.
The Bucs get back to work this weekend when they visit Western Texas College for a 5:30 p.m. tilt Saturday in Snyder, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
