Austin County/ Texas –– The NRA Foundation has awarded the Austin County Sheriff’s Office a grant totaling $3,948.090 to fund practice ammunition for deputies. “We are very excited about receiving funding to purchase practice ammunition” said Austin County Sheriff, Jack Brandes, “and pleased that the NRA is making an investment in our community.”
This grant will supply 9mm, 40 and 45caliber practice ammunition to allow state licensed peace officers employed by the Austin County Sheriff’s Office to continue monthly practice range time, a program started by Sheriff Brandes. “The importance of constant training cannot be understated, thanks to this grant from the NRA Foundation, this training can continue” said Sheriff Brandes.
