The Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) invites the public to its upcoming event, “From the Cradle to the Grave and Everything in Between,” scheduled for August 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Caldwell Civic and Visitor Center, located at 103 W. Texas Highway 21, Caldwell, TX 77836. Registration opens at 8:00 AM.

This enriching event will feature a series of presentations from notable speakers: Tommy Ryan and Patsy Simek will discuss the Orphan Train Riders to Burleson County; Dreanna Belden will explore “The Portal to Texas History” and its significance for history and genealogy; Ken Wiltz will cover the history of the funeral industry and future changes; and Henry Mayo will provide insights on searching Texas land records and the history of Brazos and Caldwell Counties.

 

Attendees will enjoy kolaches and coffee or juice with registration, a catered lunch, a silent auction, and sales tables showcasing the newest 2024 Christmas Ornaments.

Early registration (postmarked by July 26, 2024) is $40 for TCGS members and $45 for non-members. After this date, fees increase to $45 for members, $50 for non-members, and $60 at the door.

 

Additionally, the TCGS’s latest publication, “Czech Churches,” is available for purchase. This 451-page book features 47 index pages and 59 articles, including photographs on the history of Texas Czech churches, the Czech-Moravian Brethren, and early Czech Protestant experiences in Texas.
