The Blinn College women’s basketball team extended its unbeaten run with a 59-51 victory over Hill College on opening day of the Grayson Hoops Classic on Friday on the campus of Grayson College in Denison, Texas.
The Buccaneers improved to 3-0 overall.

Defense has fueled Blinn’s early-season success, with Friday’s result lowering the team’s average for points allowed to 56.7.
“We played extremely hard and defended well tonight,” said Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins. “I was proud of their effort.”
Blinn never trailed against the Rebels. The Bucs led 7-3 after the first period and built a 28-18 halftime cushion. The Bucs held a 39-30 edge heading into the fourth period.

Offensively, sophomore forward Jasmyn Jackson and freshman guard DJ Kincade paced Blinn with 10 points apiece. Freshman guard Wynter Jones tallied nine points, sophomore guard Tianna Mathis had eight, and freshman forward Tocarra Johnson chipped in seven.
Blinn concludes the Grayson Hoops Classic with a matchup against Ranger College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 44?NJCAA national championships since 1987.
